BVI Part 2– Food Inspired

My time spent at the Aerial was so special and left me with a more conscious mindset about how I am treating my body and what I am putting into it. At the Aerial they have a pescetarian forward menu. There is an emphasis on healthy fats with clean and lean proteins in the form of fresh fish. All the food and drinks are sourced locally either on the island or from local Caribbean islands. There is a Healing Island Farmacy - which is not your typical pharmacy. The Farmacy is made up of fresh grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs that are used daily in the meals served on the island. The motto on the island is, “If it’s here for you, it’s good for you.”

Mother’s Day Interview

For Mother’s Day I wanted to share an interview with my mom for everyone who doesn’t know her to get a little more insight on who she is and why she has made such a profound impact on my life. I know it’s not the most glamorous set up but I hope you can enjoy the interview for what it is. Intuitive Eating with Raw Beauty Co.

Today I am bringing in friend and expert, Erin Treloar, to discuss what some are calling the new Buzz word for health in wellness, that is, Intuitive Eating. For years I struggled with fad diets, over eating, under eating, but more than anything the emotional turmoil and shame that come along with that very unhealthy cycle. The greatest lesson I have learned through my own self love journey and gaining a better relationship with food is that it has nothing to do with control or perfection and everything to do with shifting my mind set.

I cooked for my brother... kind of

I cooked my brother his favorite meal for his birthday… Okay as you can tell from this video my family doesn’t have complete faith in me to cook a delicious meal unsupervised so I recruited my dad to help me out! I think the problem with my cooking abilities is that I always try to make everything healthy, with no real reference of what is actually replaceable in a recipe.

It’s Cookie Season

I am doing a Cookie-Thon for a charity event with Skip1 to raise money for schools around the world and feeding programs here in the US! I was asked to participate in sharing a recipe for the holidays and since I’m spending some time with my parents in Virginia, I decided to pull out my Grandma’s old cook book and find something old school to bake! I flipped to the cookie page and saw “Cream Cheese Cookies.” I thought, hell yeah.
