What’s in My Camera Bag

One of my most asked questions, “What camera do you use?” Here’s the tea, I am a Canon girl through and through. I’ve tried Sony and I’ve tried Panasonic but my home lies in Canon. I have so much love for Sony, FujiFilm and I genuinely even love my Panasonic GH5 for what it does for me but nothing will compete with my current head camera.

My Essentials

The bread and butter of my camera bag is my Canon R5 and the 35 mm prime lens. The R6 is also incredible and a little more affordable that the R5.

For Beginners

That being said, here are my suggestions for someone starting out who doesn’t need all the bells and whistles that I look for with my setup.

The Canon R7 is an great camera and the Tamron 24-70 mm is a way more versatile lens than the 35 mm I typically use for weddings. (I purchased the Tamron lens before I switched to mirrorless, so I use an adapter but I’ll link a compatible lense that is comparable.)

Panasonic LUMIX GH5

For Video

I also have a GH5 in my bag that is fun for hand held video but I wouldn’t recommend this camera to anyone, I feel like it was a bit of a mistake to purchase but some people love it. I have considered selling it to get another Canon but for now it’s a fun addition to my camera bag. It’s lightweight and has great internal stabilization, so I don’t have to use a stabilizer to get stable shots. The downfall for me is that it has a cropped sensor. So although I do blend it with my full sensor shots, it’s not ideal for a semi-profession set up. (At least in my opinion) BUT it’s a fun little camera and it is powerful.

Canon EOS M200

For Vlogging

Finally, the most basic and affordable option is a camera that will 100% upgrade your photo/video quality from your iphone, without breaking the bank! This is what I use for vlogging and it’s so easy to throw in your purse for a night out. Turn on the flash and it’s literally so cute for night photography!

Lets inspire each other.

My goal is to create a space where we can connect, share stories, make new friends, find advice and grow together.
