Christmas Things To Do in LA
So I am spending about a week in LA, just checking out the scene before I decide if this is a place I am wanting to call home. I typically have spent most of my Holiday time on the East Coast. I mean when I think about Christmas, I always think of NYC, snow, hot chocolate, cold and cozy vibes. So this week I am putting LA to the test!
I started the trip off strong by attending The Noel Ball hosted by Stephen Lovegrove. The party was at The Mayan which was a stunning venue with the perfect set up. There was a red carpet when you walked in the front door and honestly it felt so weird! I also straight up tripped walking up to the reporter from People magazine (she is beauty, she is grace). Thankfully it wasn’t until the red carpet portion was basically over, so I don’t think too many people saw. I am not used to that kind of experience at all but I had my girlfriend Imani with me who made it so much fun! Imani and I met in 2020 when we were both representing our states at Miss USA. She has always been someone I admire and look up to. When I first decided to come out to LA for the week, I hit up Imani and was like I NEED you to be my date to this event, it is going to be so fun. Of course she was down and we have also made plans to get back together and do her podcast while I’m in town so stay tuned for that episode! You can find her podcast here and you can find her vlog here! I’m sure there will be an episode soon with some footage from the night. Imani is one of the most empowered and empowering women I know, so she was the literal perfect date for such a new and exciting experience.
So I did a little research on Holiday fun in LA that I will be testing out myself while I’m here but wanted to share some of the interesting ones for you guys to check out as well. Let me know if you have any good recommendations I should check out before I leave town.
Light Displays
Los Angeles Zoo’s all-new nighttime winter attraction that will transform its grounds into an immersive landscape filled with spectacular lantern sculptures of animals among blooming flowers, towering trees, and more. This reimagined, wildlife-centric LED-lights display will feature over 30 of the Zoo’s most beloved animals including giraffes, elephants, orangutans, lemurs, koalas, and condors, along with other charismatic inhabitants.
Disneyland - Festival of Holidays
Obviously having worked in a Disney park myself, my favorite time of year at the parks is Christmas! I worked two Christmas’s back to back in the parks in Japan and it’s still one of my favorite memories. It really was magical!
Uplit trees and over a dozen illuminated installations dot the roughly mile-long pathway at the second edition of Lightscape at the L.A. County Arboretum! I feel like this one is an IG influencer dream! The photos will be stunning!
Fun Things Around Town
Every Wednesday they have a live DJ!
Marina Del Rey - Holiday Boat Parade
This looks so fun! It’s happening on the 10th and it’s their 60th annual!
Westfield Century City Malls - Holiday Market
This one looks adorable. A little winter wonderland village is set up with tons of shops and decor to enjoy the holidays and get a little shopping done.
These are a few of the places I’m hoping to check out while here but I will have a full recap from the week so soon. Let me know below if there is anything else I should check out while I’m here!
